I've seen quite a few animations using Cell Fractured objects, but I never liked the way they just "fell apart". Here, I tweak the idea slightly:
- the cell pieces are joined to neighbours with breakable physics links, this keeps chunks of the object together longer for a more realistic shatter,
- fractures can't retain vertex normals, so I recalculate them by looking at the original mesh. Press "1" to remove textures to make it clearer.
Sorry if this doesn't run well on all systems - it's just a quick hack.
